NB 1376 will be fuelled by liquefied natural gas. Sulphur oxide emissions will be minimal and nitrogen oxide emissions will be at least 80 per cent below the International Maritime Organization’s (IMO) current stipulated level. NB 1376 will be able to sail without restrictions in Sulphur Emission Control Areas (SECAs) and Nitrogen Emission Control Areas (NECAs). LNG offers the most economical and environmentally sound solution for the future.
