At the very beginning you have a dream-like vision in your mind. Exploring that and the faint images and signals it gives you start composing the vision of what you should be reaching for.

Dream-like pictures, pictures of a boat that you’d love to be onboard – as well as your friends, realatives, people in the streets. You picture a boat with which traveling is to enjoy. A completely new kind of experience on the sea. The boat will for example live with the people onboard: in the morning the boat will look like morning, daytime reflects daytime and when the night comes the boat dresses up for the night time. I don’t know if there is another ship in the world that changes  with the time of day.

Projektin lähtökohdat

Aluksi mielessä on jonkinlainen unenomainen mielikuva. Sitä tutkimalla ja sen heikkoja signaaleja lukemalla alkaa muodostua visio siitä, minkälaista toteutusta kohti lähdetään pyrkimään.

Unenomaisia kuvia, halua rakentaa laiva, jossa viihtyisi itse, jossa ystävät, sukulaiset, kaduilla vastaantulijat voisivat olla ja nauttia merimatkasta. Näistä lähtökohdista on alkanut syntyä uudenlainen merielämys. Laiva tulee esimerkiksi elämään risteilymatkustajien mukana: aamu näyttää myös sisällä aamulta, päivä päivältä ja ilta illalta. En tiedä, onko tällaista laivaa vielä koskaan suunniteltu, jossa vuorokaudenaika vaikuttaa sisustukseen.
